Oaklands Crossing Grade Separation

Oaklands Crossing Grade Separation

About the Project

Ausdig has had the privilege to work with the PTP Alliance on the Oaklands Crossing Grade Separation. The $274 million dollar project is jointly funded by the Australian Government, the State Government and the City of Marion.

At Ausdig, we are proud to offer our services as an earthmoving contractor to play a part in a development that will decrease traffic congestion and travel time for all commuters, and further improve safety for all.

Plans to remove the level crossing and lower the rail line, will aim to improve safety for vehicles and pedestrians, as well as increase the number of commuter car parks.

Ausdig has proudly contributed to the progression of the project through earthmoving and excavation work.

Highly competent machine operators have undertaken the bulk dig, final trim and detailed excavation, using our GPS integrated excavators. Ausdig have supplied the Base Station for the project along with the GPS repeaters to get the signal down deep into the cut.
This technology allows for a clean and accurate finish within 15mm to 30 mm to the final trim.

Ausdig provided the necessary systems to ensure the safety of construction contractors and earthmoving contractors on site. Our Prolec height/slew limiter systems were used to ensure the highest standards of safety available to the project when construction was occurring under the bridge, under and above live services and alongside live traffic.
Our equipment, machine operators and machine attachments were all used to great effect on this job.

As seen, our Rammer 555 and 1533 rock breakers are being used on the project for breaking piles, concrete and bitchumen.
Ausdig has used the PD25 auger drive to undertake the augering 1200ml holes to 4-6m deep.

Workforce Participation

Ausdig believes in increasing employment opportunities and skill development opportunities for Aboriginal peoples, trainees and apprentices, and local people with barriers to employment. We believe in providing opportunities for training to better our employee’s knowledge and experiences on the job and for future jobs.

Through this, we work with the PTP Alliance on the project to complete monthly Workforce Participation Reports, helping to meet targets and identify future goals and improvements.
